Stalling issueReply with Quote Edit/Delete Post Search for other posts by Report to Moderator        IP Address Go to the top of this page

I have an 82 RX7 with MSD direct fire. Rats nets pulled off. ACC valve off.

The problem that Im having now is that when I start the car and after it warms up the car will stall. I can restart the car and then it will hold idle. This issue happens when the can has been sitting over night and it is from a cold start. I ll let the car warm up untill the choke lets go. then the car will stall. Also my idle changes from stoplight to stoplight. ranging from 500rpm to 900rpm. Is there something that I can do to prevent this issue.

Thanks in advance

You have a vacuum leak. Check the big hose on the backside of the intake manifold (anti-afterburn valve hose) and see if it has a hole in it. If so you can wrap it in electrical tape for a temp fix while you're waiting for the new one to come in.

It's the very last item on the page:

I looked at the hose and the hose is in good shape. There is no vacume leak at that hose or at the connection points. Ive started fiddling around with the mixture and idle screws. I bumped up the idle to 900 and opened up the mixture screw 1/4 turn. Idle seems to be quicker now.

Any othe ideas that I might be able to try??

If your idle hunts and the engine dies as you reach operating temperature, you have a vacuum leak somewhere.
