Maybe not a battery, but it might be a good idea to get a capacitor. Letting that take the big drawls when the bass hits is better then it coming outta your battery, and will help to keep a more constent flow of juice to your amp.

Sorry for the long delay. Anyway. No need to completely rewire. just run a good size power wire from the battery to the capacitor (with in-line fuse) then from the capacitor to the amp. Ground the amp close to it on the body. Then wire the amp to your subs. reaudio.com has some good stuff and good info on building boxs if you dont already have one.

quote: Keep in mind I am not going for a prize winning sound system, all I will be pushing is 1000 Watts max.
All I had was a single 12" sub with a 200 watt amp and that was plenty. I replaced the stock speakers with some high-end speakers and put in a set of Infinity tweeters all run off a JVC head unit (speaker outs, no amp) and it was crisp, clear, and plenty loud.

Yea I am gonna wait and see if I need a capacitor first. if my lights dont dim and I don't see problems I wont install one. plus its $50 bucks I wont have to spend. I am making progress with my system though. got the boxes cut with all the holes cut out. I will start a new thread once I get more of a finished product and share with you my set-up.
