Well Yesterday was a good day I got all of the holes for my sub boxes cut out and all the pieces sanded. today I tore apart the interior and found a very disappointing sight, I have a roughly inch by 3 inch rust hole in my driver side wheel well I am a little angry but its just a minor setback. I will post pics tomorrow of before and after body work as well as my boxes.
This car is lucky I love it so much, hell its lucky that I am planning on restoring it cuz if I wasnt I probably would have just put everything back together and said screw it but come on it is an 83 and I cant expect everything to go as planned. Besides that I think we all can agree rotaries are some of, if not the most, fun cars to drive. so even though I may look at today as a step back once she is done it will all be worth it.

Fix that rust! If it spreads your upper suspension link can rip out. My RX-7's been parked for a couple of years now because it's threatening to tear loose.

The only way to really fix that is to cut it out and weld in new metal.

Spyride, the boxes are small but they are going under where my storage bins were. I had to make them small. I used the hidden sub demensions from this site but modified them slightly to get more of an angle pointing towards the seat. I will be hooking everything up today and testing it. I hope it doesnt dim my headlights, however, if it does I will just get a capacitor. will be posting pics today and later this week once everything is completely finished.

This may be off subject but another thing I did was take apart the driver side power window button and clean it again. it was becoming bad and not working all the time. The switch was just a little dirty but clean and good as new now.

The speaker box dimensions are on the small side, but they fit under the bins - stealth is the best theft deterrent. Mounting the speaker over the top of the lid instead of under (like Zach did) makes a noticeable difference.
Cleaning the switches works good for about a year or so, then you have to do it again. Luckily it's easy to do.

^agreed, I had to do this when I got the car. I haven't drove it daily since I got it until this summer. yet, once again I had to clean the switches. very easy and effective if only for a short time.

Everything is done. I put the interior back together and wired everything in about an hour and a half trying to beat the 90 degree heat. sounds great and took it on a long drive. everything is solid. I will be posting a picture tuesday of the black cage I am putting over the amp.
And on at night

Yep. I think that was the most popular advice I ever wrote up. I'm glad I posted it.
